 Social Cognition Notes and Main Ideas

People make a lot of errors and have biases when they make social judgements

We believe things happen more if we hear about it more often

Person attribution, Target attribution, Situational attribution

Consensus info- weather other people preform same behavior or not

Distinctiveness info- only preformed toward particular target of person or other targets as well

Consistency info- weather behavior is preformed all the time or not

Personal attribution=low consensus -attribute cause of behavior to person preforming behavior 

Target attribution=high distinctiveness- behavior is caused because of target

situation attribution< low consistency- preformed in some contexts but not others
