67.7% of cult members joined because of life dissatisfaction
38% were on religious quest
38% had depressive symptoms
32% were because of a social presence in a group
22.6% because of family conflict
19.4% because a relative was already involved
86% of people who left cults did so on personal initiative
most people who join cults arent gullible, cults just have tricky ways of roping them in.
