Week 7, Post 2
Andrew Tate was one of the most influential social media personalities of 2022. According to Google's end-of-year statistics, he was one of the most searched people on the internet. His business model is built off an elaborate and effective marketing scheme where he gets attention on the internet, via social media, by saying and promoting the most outrageous, anti-culture ideas. Using this publicity he promotes an online course where he teaches the paying student how to make money "in the real world, outside of the matrix", which is the society we live in.
Some of Tate's ideas about society hold some truth, such as the point that most people work inside of a system that is a deceptive society, and that this deceptive system will not allow them to become rich. This business model works because it strikes heartstrings with many young men and women today because everyone wants to be rich, or at least live comfortably, and for many people, a 9 to 5 job is less than desirable if there are easier options. Tate uses this idea to convince people to buy his product, which with a closer look is just another deceptive world where he is the one in charge. People like Andrew Tate are dangerous because they see through the deception of our society and seek to harness its full power for themselves.
How does he define the matrix?
